I love the vintage, aged and rustic effects in Jill's work, reminiscent of Morocco and ornate tilling. "One of the most arresting visuals for me is an old wall layered with papers, graffiti and text- our modern hieroglyphics. I try to re-create this beauty in my work, the layers of time and decay are what interest me."
Decadent
After studying for a Master in Fine Art from the School of the Art Institute in Chicago, Jill completed a Ba (Hons) from Sheffield School of Interior Design.
Jill's work is a rich combination of surface pattern, typography, texture and unique qualities with metallic highlights that add a rustic richness and depth. Jill uses a variety of media, including found papers, paint, gold and copper leaf, fabrics, and venetian plaster, "I use collected materials and allow pattern, texture, color and structure to emerge organically."
